Job summary

DHL Group seeks a Customs Entry Agent to ensure compliance with US and international regulations for import shipments. The role involves processing entries, calculating tariffs, and reviewing documents like invoices and bills of lading to secure release of freight.

This position requires meticulous attention to detail, ability to work overtime, and familiarity with MS Office. A SIDA badge is required; background checks will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• Overtime is required.
• 1 year experience in transportation or customs preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic database/web apps.
• Excellent oral and written communication; strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency on a 10-key calculator.
• Access to secured airport areas; must obtain SIDA badge and pass security checks.

Responsibilities

• Direct flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations.
• Classify import/export shipments for compliance with government rules.
• Process requests for extensions, expirations, cancellations and government entries.
• Communicate shipment status with origin/destination locations.
• Apply for Import/Export Permits and Certificates of Eligibility.
• Maintain communication with foreign affairs.
• Handle incoming/outgoing mail and correspondence.
• Determine Harmonized Tariff Code for each commodity.
• Submit shipments for FDA/US Customs clearance.
