Job summary

DHL Express in Erlanger, KY is seeking a PM FDA Customs Entry Writer to ensure compliance with federal regulations governing shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported products. You will process entries to US Customs and FDA, compute tariffs, and review invoices and shipping documents to obtain release of freight.

The role requires a high school diploma (associate preferred), at least 1 year in transportation or customs, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
• Overtime is required
• 1 year experience in transportation or customs preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and databases
• Good oral and written communication; problem solving and interpersonal skills; clear telephone voice
• Proficiency on a 10 key calculator

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations
• Classify dutiable import/export shipments to ensure compliance with government rules
• Process requests for extensions, expiration, cancellation and all government entries
• Communicate with origin and destination on shipment status and handling
• Apply for Import/Export Permits and Certificates of Eligibility
• Maintain open communication with department of foreign affairs
• May receive and distribute mail and correspondence
• Examine invoices and documents to determine Harmonized Tariff Code
• Know US Customs Regulations and trade agreements
• Be detail oriented, organized with good time management
• Process shipments through portals for FDA and US Customs clearance
