Job summary

AutoZone’s Manager in Training (MIT) program prepares you for Retail Store Management with hands-on leadership, customer service excellence, and operational expertise. Under the Store Manager, MITs gain experience leading a team and driving store performance.

Within 8-12 weeks you could be promoted to management depending on performance and prior experience; this role emphasizes developing people, managing inventory, and delivering WOW customer service while upholding AutoZone standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year as a retail manager or supervisor.
• Flexible full-time schedule including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Strong communication with English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Leadership development to build a high-performing team.
• Communicate clearly with employees and customers to drive store execution.
• Analyze and reconcile monthly P&L statements to optimize profitability.
• Support store operations, ensure policy compliance, and uphold training processes.
• Assist with staffing, mentoring, and training.

• Oversee inventory accuracy, merchandising, and sales strategies.
• Complete management skills training and learn key store operations.
