Job summary

AutoZone's Store Management team drives store performance and customer service excellence. The Manager in Training (MIT) is a transitional role preparing for Retail Store Management, with hands-on assignments and structured learning. Progression to management is based on performance and openings.

MITs focus on leadership development, communication, and operational excellence, with the potential to advance within 8–12 weeks depending on prior experience and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year: 1–2 years of prior experience as a retail manager or supervisor.
• Flexible schedule: Full-time availability including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Exceptional Communication: Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Automotive retail or P&L analysis experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead store team to deliver WOW customer service and live AutoZone's pledge.
• Maintain clear communication with staff and customers to drive store execution.
• Learn to analyze and reconcile monthly P&L statements to optimize profitability.
• Support store operations, ensure policy compliance, and participate in structured training.
• Mentor and train employees to develop a strong, successful team.
