Job summary

Xfinity Live! in Baltimore is seeking a Cook to join our high-volume kitchen team. You will prepare and cook orders, manage wastage, restock, and maintain kitchen cleanliness while coordinating with supervisors and other departments.

The role requires at least one year of fast-paced kitchen experience, basic math and communication skills, and possibly shifts including nights, weekends, or holidays. Alcohol awareness or food handler certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience cooking on a fast-paced kitchen line.
• Culinary certified training preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cooking, following recipes, portion control, and presentation.
• Strong communication with cooks, wait staff and supervisors.
• Reading and writing abilities used when preparing meals, scheduling, or monitoring inventory.
• Math skills for quantities, percentages, and variances.
• Alcohol awareness certification or food service permit per local/state rules.
• May require night, weekend, or holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Control food usage to minimize waste.
• Prepare and cook orders for daily operations in a timely manner.
• Advise supervisor on low inventory items and assist in receiving.
• Restock items as needed through the shift.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
• May assist by performing ware washer or other kitchen duties.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other departments.
• May occasionally interact directly with guests.
• Perform more than one task at a time.
