Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience cooking in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Culinary certification or training preferred.
• Knowledge of cooking, following recipes, portion control, and presentation.
• Strong communication with cooks, wait staff and supervisors.
• Reading and writing abilities used for recipes, scheduling, or inventory.
• Basic math, percentages, quantities, and variances used in kitchen operations.
• Alcohol awareness certification or food service permit/health card as required.
• May require night, weekend, or holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Control food usage to minimize waste.
• Prepare and cook orders for daily operations in a timely manner.
• Advise supervisor of low inventory items and assist in receiving/inventory.
• Restock items as needed through the shift.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards per Health Board and company requirements.
• Keep work area clean and organized including reach-ins and counters.
• Report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
• May assist with ware washing or other kitchen duties.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with departments; may interact with guests.
• Perform more than one task at a time.
