Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Works is seeking friendly, outgoing associates to deliver fast, courteous service and high-quality products in a busy, welcoming shop. You will be the primary point of contact for guests and help ensure an outstanding dining experience.

You may work across several stations, handle cash, restock, and assist with food preparation in a clean, safe setting. This role requires 16+ and physical stamina, with opportunities for growth and a supportive benefits program.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable in a bustling kitchen environment; knife skills are a plus.
• Able to stand/walk a minimum of 3 hours; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness, and safety.
• Restock food line, chips, and cooler.
• Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, and more) efficiently.
• If 18 or older, operate the slicer to prep items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register: handle and balance cash; follow cash handling procedures.
• Handle customer complaints/issues effectively.
• Take delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned.
