Job summary

Thompson Child & Family Focus, Inc. in Charlotte is seeking a Family Support Partner to educate and assist guardians in navigating child welfare, education, and behavioral health systems, both in the home and in the community.

You will help families gain skills, access referrals, and build resilient supports for youth ages 0-18. Typical day includes 90-minute mentorship sessions, in-person or virtual, 9 am–5 pm with weekends off and occasional on-call.

Qualifications

• Experience as a primary caregiver of a youth with special needs or involvement in child welfare.
• National certification or in process of obtaining national certification as a Parent Support Provider.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet credentialing/licensing standards; ability to pass drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Educate and assist guardians in navigating child-serving systems (child welfare, education, behavioral/mental health, juvenile justice, school, primary care).
• Provide 9–12 hours of support mentorship to legal guardians weekly in school, home, and community settings.
• Schedule typically 9 am–5 pm, non-traditional but non weekends, with on-call as needed.
