Job summary

Thompson Child & Family Focus - A Child's Place Program is seeking a Youth Support Partner in Charlotte. This role provides mentorship to youths aged 14-21 in schools, homes, and communities, about 90 minutes weekly, either in person or virtually.

You will help navigate complex service systems and foster healthy relationships while supporting youth goals and needs. The position offers a non-traditional schedule, typically 9 am–5 pm, with days avoiding weekends and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
• Meet credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards as it pertains to the department you are in.
• High School Diploma or GED, or associate’s degree and 1 year of experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software, excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must have lived experience as a youth who has overcome mental health challenges and/or multiple systems involvement

Responsibilities

• Provide education and assistance in navigating child-serving systems (child welfare, education, behavioral/mental health, juvenile justice, school, primary care).
• Support youth in understanding and expressing needs, goals, and decisions; model healthy relationships and coping skills.
• Maintain a non-traditional schedule, typically around 9 am–5 pm, with in-person or virtual mentorship in Charlotte and surrounding areas.
