Job summary

The Salvation Army Michigan is seeking a Family Store Assistant Manager to support the store manager in daily operations, staff training, cash handling, and policy compliance. This role works with store associates to assist customers and acts as the manager in the manager's absence.

You will help lead customer development and retention plans to ensure an excellent customer experience and participate in monthly manager meetings to stay aligned with new policies and directives.

Responsibilities

Position Summary: The Family Store Assistant Manager supports the store manager with the planning, administering, monitoring, and evaluation of the day-to-day operations ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. This position works alongside store associates to assist customers and serves as the manager in the absence of the store manager.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent (required), Associates degree (preferred), or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• 2 years experience in retail sales

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

Computer Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
• Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
• Proficient in operating Point of Sales System

Certificates and Licenses:

• Must have and maintain a current valid chauffer’s license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR)
• Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
