The Salvation Army USA Central Territory in Mount Pleasant, MI is seeking a Family Store Assistant Manager to support day-to-day operations, supervise clerks, and assist customers. This role serves as the manager in the absence of the store manager.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (associates preferred), at least two years of retail experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, TEAMS, SharePoint, and POS systems, and a valid driver’s license with MVR check.

• 2 years retail sales experience.

Responsabilités

• Assist in supervising clerks to ensure policy compliance.
• Assist with training for new personnel.
• Ensure daily cash receipts are banked and reported as required.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and communicate new policies.
• Help develop customer retention plans to enhance experience.
• Report safety hazards and protect personnel and property.
• Report any detrimental clerk behavior to the Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary: The Family Store Assistant Manager supports the store manager with the planning, administering, monitoring, and evaluation of the day-to-day operations ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. This position works alongside store associates to assist customers and serves as the manager in the absence of the store manager.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision of clerks in performance of duties to ensure compliance with directives and guidelines.
• Assist with the training for new personnel.
• Assist with ensuring cash receipts are banked at end of business day and information is sent to appropriate personnel as required.
• Attend monthly staff meetings for managers and keep personnel informed of new policies and directives.
• Assist with leadership of customer development and retention plans to ensure an excellent customer experience.
• Report safety hazards. Responsible for the protection of personnel, property, and building.
• Report to Manager any detrimental behavior by clerks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• High school graduate or equivalent (required), Associates degree (preferred), or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• 2 years experience in retail sales

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Computer Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
• Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
• Proficient in operating Point of Sales System

Certificates and Licenses

• Must have and maintain a current valid chauffeur’s license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR)
• Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
