Job summary

The Salvation Army in Michigan is seeking a Family Store Assistant Manager to support the store manager with day-to-day operations and to act in the manager’s absence. You will supervise clerks, assist with training, oversee cash handling, and help drive customer development to ensure an excellent shopping experience.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred) and at least 2 years of retail sales experience.

Position Summary:

The Family Store Assistant Manager supports the store manager with the planning, administering, monitoring, and evaluation of the day-to-day operations ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. This position works alongside store associates to assist customers and serves as the manager in the absence of the store manager.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent (required), Associates degree (preferred), or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• 2 years experience in retail sales

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

Computer Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
• Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
• Proficient in operating Point of Sales System

Certificates and Licenses:

• Must have and maintain a current valid chauffer’s license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR)
• Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
