Job summary

Akin Family Resource Center is seeking a Family Resource Specialist to greet visitors, connect families with resources, and support program navigation. This role involves in-person client contact, data entry, and light clerical work in a busy community setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with resource access, sharing program information, and referring families to internal services or external resources as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 1–2 years in social/human services with children and families
• Valid driver's license with a favorable driving record, with no more than three violations within the past three years

Responsibilities

• Create a warm and welcoming environment for all community members who walk in or call
• Assist participants in accessing resources in the resource room
• Provide information about Akin programs and external resources
• Refer participants to Family Navigation for prevention and/or family development activities
• Refer participants to other Akin programs available by site
• Refer participants to external resources as needed/appropriate
• Enter data about participant visits, resource room inventory, and other data needs
• Light clerical work to support the operations of the Akin Family Resource Center
• Welcoming families for Behavioral Health, Early Learning, and Family Support services (location depending)
• Answering inquiries about Akin programs via phone, email, or in person
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor to advance the mission, vision, and values of Akin
