Job summary

Akin is seeking a Family Resource Specialist to be the first point of contact for participants seeking resources, support, and programs at the Family Resource Center in Kent, WA. The role handles PHI/CII and contributes to daily operations in a multi-pillar service model.

You will welcome families, help access resources, and coordinate referrals to in-house and external programs, while maintaining data accuracy and performing light clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 1–2 years in social or human services with families.
• Valid driver’s license with no more than three violations in the past three years.
• Bi-lingual (as needed) preferred; lived experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming environment for all community members who walk in or call.
• Assist participants in accessing concrete goods in the resource room.
• Provide information about Akin programs and external resources.
• Refer participants to Family Navigation for secondary prevention and/or family development activities.
• Refer participants to other Akin programs at the site and to external resources as needed.
• Enter data about participant visits and resource room inventory; perform light clerical tasks.
• Support operations with basic administrative duties.
