Job summary

Akin is seeking a Family Resource Specialist at the Family Resource Center in Kent, WA. The role focuses on creating a warm, welcoming environment, helping participants access resources, and guiding them to Akin programs and external services.

In-person, site-based work with flexibility for events and data entry. Requires strong communication, data handling, and teamwork to support Behavioral Health, Early Learning, and Family Support pillars.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years’ experience in social or human services with children and families, or equivalent education/experience
• Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record (no more than three violations in 3 years)
• Willingness to learn and work with diverse communities

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment for all community members
• Assist participants in accessing concrete goods in the resource room
• Provide information about Akin programs and external resources
• Refer participants to Family Navigation and other Akin programs
• Enter data about participant visits and resource room inventory
• Perform light clerical tasks to support operations
