Job summary

Creative Action in Austin, TX, is seeking a Family Programs and Community Engagement Coordinator to oversee volunteer coordination, staff management, and partner relations for family programs, camps and events. The role involves coordinating onsite program staff, building partner networks, hosting events, and ensuring program quality with a hybrid work schedule and strong benefits.

The incumbent will support camp and community programming, collaborate with leadership, and drive family engagement

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in community organizing, event management, youth engagement, or arts education.
• 1-2 years of experience leading staff, volunteers, or event teams.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean record.
• Willingness to drive cargo vans and large trucks as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility for evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work outdoors in variable conditions.
• Must pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee volunteer operations for family programs, camps and events, including recruitment, coordination and stewardship.
• Coordinate volunteer schedules and onsite management for programs and events.
• Maintain volunteer communication and resources, including newsletters and best practices.
• Develop partnerships to grow the volunteer base and manage swag and supplies.
