InterMed, P.A. is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to provide administrative and clerical support to clinical staff. You will multitask, deliver excellent customer service, and communicate with providers, patients, and vendors.

The role includes coordinating appointments, scheduling surgeries, preparing patient packets, and maintaining patient charts to support clinical workflows. Prior medical office experience and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous work experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with accuracy.
  • Professional written and verbal communications skills.

Responsibilities

  • Answer calls and support clinical team as needed.
  • Schedule routine, follow-up, and ancillary appointments via portal or phone.
  • Coordinate surgical scheduling and pre/post-op appointments.
  • Prepare patient packets and mail questionnaires electronically.
  • Maintain accurate patient charts to support clinical workflows.
  • Coordinate referrals and communicate with HIM as needed.
  • Ensure HIPAA confidentiality and InterMed policies.
