Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking an After-School Aide to support care, supervision, and well-being of students in the school's after-school program.

You will help create a safe, welcoming, and faith-centered environment aligned with the Catholic school's mission. You will supervise, assist with homework and activities, maintain a positive atmosphere, and communicate with teachers, staff, students, and parents.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children preferred.
• Dependable, patient, responsible, and able to work well with children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students.
• Commitment to supporting the mission and values of a Catholic school.
• Must successfully complete required background checks and child-safety training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students before, during, and after scheduled activities.
• Assist with homework, reading, crafts, games, and age-appropriate activities.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive environment.
• Encourage respectful behavior and reinforce school rules and expectations.
• Support students with transitions, snack time, outdoor play, and dismissal.
• Communicate appropriately with teachers, staff, students, and parents/guardians.
• Assist with setting up, cleaning, and organizing activity areas.
• Support the school's Catholic identity by modeling kindness, respect, compassion, and service.
• Follow all school safety, supervision, and child-protection policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the program coordinator or school administration.
