Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking an After School Care Aide to provide a safe, nurturing, faith-filled environment for students in before/after-school programs.

Under the supervision of the After School Care Director or Principal, you will supervise children, assist with activities and homework, and model Catholic values. This role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and maintaining a positive environment aligned with school policies and health guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in education, child development, or related field preferred.
• Experience with school-age children in classroom, childcare, camp, or similar setting preferred.
• Ability to supervise groups of children in a safe, positive environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with school staff, students, and parents.
• Supportive of Catholic education values.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during before-school, after-school, and extended care programs.
• Ensure safety and well-being with proper supervision at all times.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
• Assist with homework and encourage responsibility and independence.
• Maintain a faith-centered environment reflecting Catholic values.
• Lead students in prayer and model Christian behavior.
• Communicate concerns to After School Care Director, Principal, and parents as appropriate.
• Maintain attendance records and sign-in/out procedures.
• Assist with snack distribution following health and allergy guidelines.
• Keep classrooms and activity areas clean and ready for daily use.
• Follow diocesan and school policies on child safety, emergencies, and confidentiality.
