Faculty Development Coordinator

APUS

Reporting to the Dean of the Center for Teaching and Learning, the CTL Faculty Development Coordinator is responsible for e-learning instructional design and content development. This role includes creating rapid e-learning solutions, managing learning management systems, event registration, and moderating webinars. The coordinator will also handle training deployment, instructional design, and developing professional development modules for faculty and students. The position requires initiative, self-direction, flexibility, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities
  1. Designs and develops e-learning content (e.g., SME knowledge transfer, research, curriculum, scripts, scenarios/branching).
  2. Creates accessible e-learning assets using tools like Adobe Creative Cloud, Synthesia, Canva, Camtasia, Kaltura, etc., including videos, audio, and graphics.
  3. Researches and develops faculty training programs to improve online and mobile teaching skills.
  4. Guides faculty in utilizing the LMS and mobile devices effectively.
  5. Revises and enhances faculty training courses and workshops, developing new content as needed.
  6. Facilitates small focus groups and conducts live webinars.
  7. Develops new programs and resources for faculty development.
  8. Manages the faculty section of the faculty campus and contributes to the CTL blog.
  9. Implements strategic initiatives to improve faculty development, aligned with university goals.
  10. Evaluates the effectiveness of training activities and recommends improvements.
  11. Collaborates with leadership to develop policies supporting teaching and learning.
  12. Addresses issues and feedback related to faculty development.
  13. Provides technical support for LMS.
  14. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  1. Proven skills in e-learning instructional design and content creation.
  2. Experience with online training, facilitation, and multimedia content development.
  3. Knowledge of 508 compliance standards.
  4. Ability to facilitate training sessions of various sizes.
  5. Understanding of university policies and organizational structure.
  6. Excellent customer service and confidentiality skills.
  7. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Proficiency in Adobe Connect, Microsoft Office Suite, and multimedia tools like Camtasia and Canva.
  9. Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  10. At least two years of experience in administrative or support roles, with online learning platform experience.
  11. Multimedia experience related to teaching and learning.
