Job summary

US Foods in Wixom, MI is seeking a seasoned Manager of Facility Operations to lead maintenance, sanitation, refrigeration, and security for a high-volume distribution center. You will manage a team, coordinate capital projects, control labor budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance across OSHA, EPA, USDA, and FDA standards.

You will optimize asset life cycles, partner with QA for food safety, and drive sustainability initiatives while supporting 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of facilities management experience.
• 3 years working with ammonia refrigeration systems within cold chain distribution preferred.
• Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams, budgets, and vendor contracts.
• Strong regulatory compliance knowledge (OSHA, EPA, USDA, FDA, GMP).
• Proficiency with CMMS and data analytics to drive performance improvements.

Responsibilities

• Direct and monitor maintenance, sanitation, refrigeration, power equipment, and security operations.
• Oversee refrigeration systems to maintain cold chain integrity and respond to excursions or failures.
• Lead facility operations projects and capital planning, coordinating with other departments.
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate staff; manage labor hours within budget.
• Manage relationships with third‑party vendors and ensure compliance certificates.
• Oversee asset inventory, maintenance life cycles, and equipment upgrades.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and conduct internal audits and safety trainings.
• Develop and manage facility budgets and implement energy efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate with safety and QA teams on sanitation, food safety, and incident response.
• Support 24/7 operations and emergency response planning.
