Job summary

US Foods in Manassas, VA seeks a Manager, Facility Operations to lead maintenance, sanitation, and facilities services across distribution centers. You will oversee refrigeration systems, safety programs, and regulatory compliance, ensuring cold chain integrity and uptime.

You will manage a maintenance team, partner with QA, negotiate with vendors, and drive cost-saving and energy-efficiency initiatives while aligning with corporate environmental goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in Distribution Facility Maintenance including building, power equipment, and ammonia refrigeration Systems.
• Experience as a people leader managing maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct and monitor maintenance, sanitation, refrigeration, power equipment, and security using tracking software and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Oversee refrigeration systems to meet temperature control standards for perishable products; partner with QA and Food Safety teams.
• Manage facilities operations activities and capital projects with minimal disruption to distribution operations.
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate staff; manage labor hours and create schedules within budget.
• Establish relationships with third-party vendors and ensure compliance incl. insurance and hold harmless agreements.
• Oversee asset selection, purchasing, utilization, and inventory control; monitor asset lifecycles.
• Partner with QA and sanitation to ensure food safety regulations (USDA, FDA, GMPs); inspections and allergen control.
• Develop and manage facility budgets and capex; drive cost-reduction and energy-efficiency initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; conduct internal audits and maintain documentation.
• Coordinate with Safety to deliver training and lead emergency response planning and safety initiatives.
• Coordinate with warehouse and transportation to support high-volume receiving, storage, and shipping.
