Job summary

Job Title: Facility Operations Assistant

Responsibilities

• Establish a service‑focused rapport with students, faculty, staff, members, and guests.
• Promote exceptional customer service to create a positive environment.
• Take initiative, act proactively, and make confident decisions.
• Respond to emergency situations and follow incident procedures.
• Maintain professionalism and cleanliness to uphold a standard of excellence.
• Serve as the key link between members, the Facility Operations Supervisor, and full‑time staff, enforcing department policies and procedures.

Area‑Specific Responsibilities

• Customer Relations/Service: Provide a high‑quality customer‑service experience at indoor and outdoor facilities, including reception, information, and support. Monitor access, assist with equipment, keys, lockers, and process memberships through Innosoft Fusion.
• Facility Operations: Maintain cleanliness of equipment and floors, perform cleaning rounds, and assist with daily opening/closing procedures. Support the supervisor in room resets, event and reservation preparation, and safety duties, including emergency action procedures.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Promote great customer service in a respectful environment.
• Dedicate 6–12 hours per week.
• Available for opening/closing shifts, Friday nights, weekends, and academic breaks.
• Successfully complete department training.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings and in‑service sessions.
• Current UVA student.
• None required for licensure or prior experience.
