Job summary

Apploi is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our Maintenance team. This role ensures a safe and comfortable environment by performing routine maintenance tasks, preventive care, and timely repairs across the facility.

You will handle painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and grounds work, while maintaining equipment service records and following safety protocols. This is a hands-on, on-site role in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility or Long Term Care Facility preferred.
• Understanding of physical plant repairs and grounds maintenance.
• Valid drivers license.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance of the property including grounds and physical plant, e.g., painting, basic plumbing, carpentry, window and wall repair, call system repairs, light fixture repairs, electrical work, and general equipment repair.
• Maintains records of medical equipment service/repair and performs preventive maintenance per manufacturer specifications.
• Checks maintenance request logs regularly and follows up; escalates to maintenance director if needed.
• Performs grounds maintenance (mowing, weed control, debris removal, flower bed upkeep, exterior pressure washing).
• Rounds daily on assigned units to identify repairs and maintain safe environment; complies with fire safety and OSHA requirements.
• Completes all assigned trainings and maintains a safe working environment free of hazards.
