Job summary

Apploi is seeking a full-time Maintenance Assistant for a nursing facility in Pasadena, CA. You will support the Maintenance Department to keep areas safe, clean, and well maintained, with emphasis on resident comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include repairs to appliances, fixtures and grounds, handling move-ins, and timely responses to requests. The role requires physical capacity and a willingness to learn, with a focus on OSHA safety and professional interaction with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or construction preferred.
• Must meet the physical requirements of the job.
• Nursing home or hospital experience preferred.
• Ability to recognize repairs and take initiative to fix them.
• Basic reporting and organizational skills.
• Calm and professional demeanor in all situations.

Responsibilities

• Manages routine maintenance needs of the facility and residents.
• Repairs appliances, fixtures, doors, beds, etc. per requests.
• Assists with move in/outs and room preparations.
• Ensures repairs are addressed within 24 hours when possible.
• Maintains appearance and safety of the facility, indoors and outdoors.
• Patches, paints, carpet/floor care; grounds maintenance.
• Supports fire and life safety training/drills with leadership.
• Communicates kindly with residents, families, staff, and vendors.
