Job summary

Planet Fitness is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep clubs safe, clean, and fully operational. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs for gym equipment and facilities to provide a positive member experience.

Key duties include inspecting facilities, maintaining HVAC and utilities, and ensuring safety compliance. You will log work orders, work with management, and help uphold brand standards in a fast-paced retail gym environment.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with hand and power tools for repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to read maintenance manuals and technical documents.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple work orders and manage competing tasks.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills; works well with others.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Complete preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repair or coordinate repairs for cardio and strength equipment, tanning beds, HydroMassage, Total Body Enhancement, massage chairs, and other amenities.
• Maintain HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical components, doors, locks, flooring, ceilings, and walls.
• Ensure restrooms, locker rooms, showers, and common areas are in good condition and safe.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
• Diagnose and repair fitness equipment to minimize downtime and extend life.
• Maintain logs and coordinate warranty repairs with vendors.
• Follow preventative maintenance schedules and inspect life safety equipment and exit signs.
• Monitor equipment performance and suggest upgrades when needed.
