Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician in Texas to inspect, maintain, and repair buildings across sites. You will use hand and power tools, perform preventive roof inspections, and collaborate with teammates on complex projects. A valid license and DOT certification are required or sponsorable by U-Haul.

You will handle general maintenance, track company assets, and participate in U-Haul University training to stay current with safety protocols and best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, A/C, HVAC, plumbing or landscaping.
• Valid driver’s license.
• D.O.T certification, which can be sponsored by U-Haul.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Ability to work around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritant chemicals.
• Ability to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.
• Ability to remain stationary for long periods indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to traverse spaces and reposition to reach and use tools.
• Ability to move a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
• U-Haul will not hire or re-hire individuals who use nicotine products in applicable states, including Texas.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and build new buildings.
• Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools.
• Collaborate with other Facility Maintenance Technicians on complex projects.
• Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Track the company truck and gas card.
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
