The JCC of Staten Island is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine inspections of our building systems and equipment. This full-time role includes preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and plumbing issues, and responding promptly to maintenance requests while keeping a clean, safe work area.

You will work independently, read blueprints and manuals, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with staff and vendors to ensure reliable

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of commercial building maintenance experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general building systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, equipment manuals and technical documents.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders and lifts.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsabilités

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC equipment in a commercial facility.
• Replace components, monitor performance, and assist with seasonal startups.
• Repair lighting, switches, breakers, and basic electrical systems.
• Repair faucets, sinks, and plumbing, and perform minor installations.
• Repair doors, windows, drywall, and cabinetry; assemble furniture.
• Follow OSHA and safety procedures; maintain records and work orders.
• Assist with grounds, exterior maintenance, and event setup; support vendors.
