Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Staten Island is seeking an experienced HVAC Maintenance Mechanic to own the HVAC and heating systems across five facilities. You will troubleshoot and service approximately 30 units, monitor compressors, replace components, and manage preventive maintenance to enhance facility operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC experience.
• Gas Certification HVAC license.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Working knowledge of a Building Maintenance System (BMS).
• Must own HVAC gauges and vacuum pump.

Responsibilities

• Clear drain pans and condensate lines; coil maintenance and leak checks.
• Change filters and maintain belts.
• Maintain four hot water boilers and heat exchangers.
• Service auto water fills; replace worn components and belts.
• Troubleshoot and repair ~30 HVAC units.
• Monitor and adjust BMS for optimal performance.
• Read blueprints to diagnose and repair systems.
• Perform safe brazing and hot-work when required.
