Job summary

Lennox International is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment in Marshalltown, IA. You will diagnose mechanical problems, reference blueprints and manuals, and ensure safe operation of driven equipment. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and a solid background with tools.

The position is hourly, non-exempt, with eligibility for overtime and a benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Requires at least 2 years related experience.
• Strong knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance service and repairs in carpentry, painting, and plastering.
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and consult blueprints and manuals to correct them.
• Inspect drives, motors, belts, fluids, and filters; test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Assemble, install or repair wiring, plumbing, and electrical components as needed.

What Drives Success

Under general supervision, proficiently performs repairs, modifications and preventative maintenance on building and facilities, equipment, fixtures.

• Performs maintenance service and repairs in the areas of carpentry, painting, plastering.
• Repairs or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
• Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.

What We Are Looking For

Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires at least 2 years related experience.Strong knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Strong Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of , buildings, or other structures. Strong Knowledge of design techniques, tools, blueprints, drawings, and models. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.

What We Offer

Compensation:This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay range for this role and market is between $26.15 – $33.85/hour. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography/market, and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible to earn overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law).
