Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, six months of food service experience, a valid food handler’s certificate, and must be 18+.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of experience in food service required; correctional/institutional food service preferred.
• Valid food handler’s certificate required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Texas driver license with acceptable driving record, unless waived.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to pre-planned menus and client needs.
• Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary work area and equipment.
• Keep track of kitchen tools and maintain inventory as directed.
• Prepare foods for special facility events and visitors.
• Instruct clients in safe, hygienic food preparation and service.
