Job summary

Management & Training Corporation in Livingston, Texas is hiring for a full-time kitchen supervisor at the IAH Secure Adult Detention Facility. You will prepare and cook meals for detainees, maintain sanitation, supervise detainees, and keep kitchen equipment in order.

Requires high school diploma and food service training; at least 1 year of food service experience and supervisory experience preferred; must obtain a Texas food handlers permit within the first week and hold a valid Texas

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook quantity of food required according to menu and number of detainees.
• Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition; keep area safe, clean and sanitary.
• Maintain accountability of kitchen tools.
• Prepare foods for special facility functions and visitors and assist in cleaning kitchen areas after meals.
• Supervise detainees assigned to assist in the kitchen.
• Requires long periods of walking and standing and pushing/pulling of food carts.

What you'll do:

• Prepare and cook quantity of food required according to menu and number of detainees.

• Prepare foods as directed for special facility functions and visitors and assist in cleaning kitchen work areas following each meal.
• Supervise detainees assigned to assist in the kitchen.
• Requires long periods of walking and standing and the pushing and pulling of food carts.

Education And Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food service training, one (1) year of food service or related experience and prior supervisory experience are preferred.
• Must obtain a food handlers permit within the first week of employment and successfully complete required preservice training.
• A valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
