Job summary

Management & Training Corporation seeks a full-time kitchen team member at the Littlefield facility to prepare meals per pre-planned menus. You will cook according to the number of clients and maintain a safe, sanitary kitchen environment.

Responsibilities include handling kitchen tools, assisting with special events, and teaching clients proper food preparation and service techniques. A valid food handler’s certificate and 18+ age are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months experience in food service preferred (correctional/institutional).
• Valid food handler’s certificate required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Texas driver license with acceptable driving record.

• Prepare meals according to pre-planned menus for clients.
• Cook quantities of food as per menu and number of clients.
• Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly, safe, sanitary condition.
• Maintain accountability of kitchen tools.

What you’ll do

You’ll be responsible for the preparation of facility meals based on pre-planned menus in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Texas Civil Commitment Office (TCCO) directives.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and cook quantity of food required according to menu and number of clients.
• Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition. Ensure work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.
• Maintain accountability of kitchen tools.
• Prepare foods as directed for special facility functions and visitors.
• Assist in instructing clients assigned to food services in the safe, hygienic method of preparing and serving appetizing appealing meals.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED.
• Six (6) months’ experience in food service preparation required. Correctional, commercial, or institutional food service experience preferred.
• Must have valid food handler’s certificate.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A valid driver license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
