Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Facilities Maintenance Program Manager to lead quarterly facility condition assessments and ensure compliance with government policies across multiple Alabama sites.

You will develop short- and long-term maintenance action plans, coordinate with government clients and internal teams, and report on guidance and issues while supervising rather than performing maintenance work.

Qualifications

• Requires an engineering degree and 10+ years in maintenance/repair of building systems.
• 5–10 years in building/equipment maintenance with mechanical and electrical experience.
• Ability to diagnose issues, identify deficiencies, and propose effective solutions.
• Willingness to learn new systems/tools, work remotely as needed, and travel frequently for audits/assessments.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and security systems.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate collaboration with internal SMEs for technical issues.
• Hold monthly meetings with local plant leadership.
• Maintain ongoing communication to address maintenance challenges.
• Generate monthly reports on technical guidance and maintenance issues.
• Oversee multiple facilities within a geographic area.
• Assess, plan, guide, and facilitate effective maintenance operations; do not perform actual maintenance or repair work.

Requirements

• Required travel: 60% to 70% to Government Client sites with adherence to General Services Administration policies
• Degree in engineering with 10 years maintenance experience; knowledge of building systems essential
• 5-10 years in building/equipment maintenance with experience in mechanical and electrical systems
• Ability to diagnose issues, identify deficiencies, and recommend solutions
• Ability to learn new systems/tools, work remotely as needed, and travel frequently for audits/assessments
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and security systems
• Baseline knowledge of mechanical/electrical equipment and maintenance processes
• Ability to learn core building systems, identify gaps/deficiencies, and assess maintenance status
• Effective written and oral communication, problem-solving ability, and engagement with stakeholders
• Strategic management across organizations, adaptability to changes, and alignment with Government Client goals
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
