Job summary

Jobtailor in Fort Dix, New Jersey seeks a seasoned Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance and repair at a federal installation. This role manages budgets, sets service goals, and directs teams across buildings, electrical, HVAC, and utilities.

You will implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs, coordinate tasks, and ensure safety compliance. Required are 5+ years in facilities maintenance with supervisory experience, plus a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and possible security

Qualifications

  • Five+ years in facilities maintenance with at least three years in supervision.
  • Budget management experience including profit and loss responsibility.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Fed Security Clearance may be required depending on local/state/contract requirements.
  • Valid Driver's License may be required depending on local/state/contract requirements.

Job description

Requirements
  • Five or more years of experience in building maintenance and construction, including at least three years in a supervisory position
  • Three years or more of business management experience including profit and loss responsibility and budgeting
  • Knowledge of planning, purchasing, and project management
  • Knowledge of specialized departmental equipment including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general carpentry equipment
  • Ability to read and understand construction, electrical, and equipment drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Knowledge of refrigeration and boilers; electrical circuits and voltage; plumbing; general carpentry; masonry and concrete applications and processes
  • Supervisory skills covering hiring, professional development, performance management, disciplinary processes, and employee relations
  • Ability to supervise and develop teams while adhering to safety policies and rules
  • Effective oral and written communication, presentation, and inquiry-response skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills

  • Advanced computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • A comparable combination of formal education and work experience will be considered
