Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to lead a facilities team across stores in New Jersey. You will oversee preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and ensure HVAC and building systems are ready for daily operations.

This role partners with the Facilities Manager, mentors junior technicians, and coordinates with vendors and project teams. Strong safety discipline and CMMS experience are valued, with a flexible schedule including evenings or weekends

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associates or vocational degree preferred.
• 5-7 years hands-on facilities experience with mechanical maintenance.
• 5+ years preventive/predictive maintenance experience.
• 5+ years in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic input/output and low voltage signals.
• Able to work unsupervised and meet multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication skills across organizational levels.
• Experience with CMMS and purchasing systems like Coupa.
• Knowledge of networking and electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform preventive maintenance on critical and non-critical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems affecting store operations.
• Operate and monitor building controls and systems; respond to alarms.
• Mentor other technicians and assist with training.
• Coordinate parts ordering, vendor management, and meetings.
• Maintain safe work environment per safety rules and LOTO/PPE.
