Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Maintenance Technician I at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL. The role supports facility and equipment maintenance on a 40-hour weekly schedule, Sunday through Thursday, 7am to 3:30pm.

You will document work in CMMS and assist with mechanical and patient-care equipment repairs. Responsibilities include maintaining HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems, performing preventive checks, and responding to emergencies with guidance as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Less than 2 years’ experience in equipment maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with codes and uses CMMS for documentation.
• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers and controls with guidance.
• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs patient care equipment like beds and wheelchairs where not managed by other departments.
• Maintains mechanical/electrical systems including HVAC, refrigerators, ice machines, and medical gas systems with defined procedures and guidance.
• Performs routine general maintenance in grounds, carpentry, painting, and snow removal.
• Responds to emergencies (leaks, floods, power outages, equipment failures) as directed.
• Keeps occupants informed and conducts zone maintenance rounds.
