Job summary

Simon Property Group, a global leader in retail real estate, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician at Court at King Of Prussia. You will troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems and structural elements of the center.

You’ll perform interior/exterior repairs, operate maintenance equipment, and support event setups with tenants and Marketing. A strong emphasis on safety and OSHA guidelines is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Technical School certifications and/or training preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years building maintenance experience including carpentry, HVAC, electrical, mechanical and plumbing functions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, plans and schematic drawings.
• Ability to present information to management, employees, tenants, and outside contacts.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Ability to define problems, collect information and establish facts.
• Paint, electrical, plumbing, and drywall skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Capability to diagnose problems on equipment.
• Knowledge of basic electrical systems.
• Knowledge of safety rules, hazards and accident prevention measures.
• Basic knowledge of fire protection hydraulic systems and fire protection alarms.
• Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect facility, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems and structures.
• Perform maintenance/minor repairs on interior/exterior areas including painting, drywall, lighting and related tasks.
• Operate equipment for preventive maintenance and keep areas clean.
• Assist Marketing and Local Leasing with event setup and cart placement/repair.
• Follow OSHA and other safety standards to maintain a safe work environment.
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance programs as directed.
• Maintain inventory records, MSDS, supplies, equipment and tools.
• Periodically inspect air handling units; replace belts, filters and grease components.
• Maintain logs documenting activity.
• Perform exterior custodial duties as needed (sweeping, mopping, steam cleaning, vacuums).
• Collect trash and operate compactor/ trash carts.
• Possible additional maintenance duties as assigned.
