Job summary

Simon Property Group at South Hills Village Mall seeks a maintenance technician to troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems and related facility elements.

You will inspect and repair systems, perform minor interior/exterior repairs, assist with events and leasing support, and uphold safety standards and OSHA guidelines. Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50 lbs required; weekends/evenings possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical training is a plus.
• 2–3 years building maintenance with carpentry, HVAC, electrical, mechanical and plumbing duties.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, plans and schematic drawings.
• Ability to convey information clearly to management, tenants and vendors.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions and troubleshoot problems.
• Knowledge of basic electrical systems, safety rules and accident prevention.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Routinely inspects facility and troubleshoots/repairs mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems and structural elements.
• Perform interior/exterior minor repairs including painting, drywall and lighting; install lamp, fuse and ballast replacements.
• Operate equipment for preventive maintenance and maintain cleanliness of property.
• Assist Marketing with events and Local Leasing for carts placement and repair.
• Schedule preventive maintenance and maintain inventories, records and safety data sheets.
• Inspect air handling units, replace belts/filters and grease components; perform exterior custodial tasks as needed.
