Job summary

SelectOne’s client, a Buffalo, NY manufacturing company, seeks a Facilities and Safety Manager to lead safety programs, regulatory compliance, and maintenance across facilities. The role champions a safety culture while meeting manufacturing standards and regulations.

The candidate will monitor hazards, lead incident investigations, train staff, and coordinate audits with HR, Quality, and Plant Operations. Requires 5 years in safety/facilities (or 8 years alternative) and an associate degree;

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and 5 years Safety & Facilities operations experience. In lieu of a college degree; 8 years of direct Safety & Facilities management experience.
• ISO/OSHA certifications are a plus.
• Creative problem solver with planning and customer service skills.
• Working knowledge in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with OSHA and safety/health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards.
• First point of contact for accident reporting and root cause analysis.
• Train employees on safety policies, procedures and regulations.
• Inspect facilities to identify safety risks and ensure compliance.
• Maintain records per guidelines and manage OSHA inspections.
• Lead and document monthly safety committee meetings.
• Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Oversee environmental health and safety functions across facilities.
• Manage maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
• Direct facility upgrades, capital projects and vendor relations.
