Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a Facilities Project Manager to lead design and construction for the District Bond program. You will oversee teams supplying design services and contractors, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery within budget.

The role requires coordinating with architects, construction consultants, and internal stakeholders while maintaining clear communication about schedule, scope, and impacts across projects. A Colorado driver’s license and residency are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of combined experience in architecture or engineering and construction projects.
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License, appropriate insurance coverage, and acceptable driving record for the past three years.
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community.
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodations.

Responsibilities

  • Manages teams to carry out directions related to new school buildings, remodeling and repair of facilities, ensuring safety and District standards, schedule and budget.
  • Directs preparation of drawings and specifications for construction projects and communicates schedule, scope and impacts to stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with District strategic sourcing to manage selection of architects and contractors through bid processes.
  • Reviews design progress documents and construction contracts for project intent and standards.
  • Manages project costs, pay requests, and schedules of design consultants and contractors.
  • Participates in design and project construction meetings to ensure user requirements are met.
  • Works with internal District teams and communicates with end users such as operations, principals, QA/QC, and public/community relations.
  • Performs internal paperwork and systems input to get projects approved by management.
  • Manages project closeout with complete documentation including warranty.
  • Assists AHERA management plan and hazmat procedures as required.
