Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance staff at a designated DPS facility, ensuring building systems remain operational with safety and security in mind.

The role covers custodial supervision, grounds maintenance, and coordination with other departments for major repairs. Typical hours and responsibilities may vary by site, with emphasis on safety, reliability, and effective team leadership.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; automated building systems experience may be required.
• Pool operation, maintenance and repair experience may be required depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Opens facility, checks work orders, evaluates grounds, and follows safety guidelines.
• Supervises custodial activities to meet appearance standards after use.
• Manages maintenance of facility grounds and housekeeping to keep facility presentable.
• Coordinates with other District departments for major repairs and submits requisitions.
• Troubleshoots and performs minor repairs on building systems.
• Monitors daily facility HVAC operation and documents modifications.
• Maintains safety through fire drills, security, and fire code compliance.
• Leads, supervises, trains staff, and conducts performance evaluations.
• Responds to facility emergencies on a 24/7 schedule.
• Schedules staff based on maintenance schedule and priority.
