Job summary

The Fortune Society, Inc. seeks a Porter for the Long Island City facilities to perform daily cleaning in offices and common spaces, restocking restrooms, and assisting with light maintenance.

You will move furniture and support routine facility tasks to keep the site clean and orderly. The role is full-time, non-exempt, and involves shifts from Monday to Friday 8am-4pm with occasional evening hours until 10pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/HSE preferred.
• Experience cleaning using standard and heavy-duty equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and floor maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Service, clean and supply restrooms.
• Move heavy furniture and supplies as needed.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines and equipment.
• Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables and chairs.
