Job summary

Southland Industries, a leading MEP firm, seeks a Facilities Operations professional to oversee daily facility functions, maintenance, security, and access for leased spaces. You will coordinate the preventive maintenance program, inspections, and room set-ups for new hires and training events, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will work as a hands-on liaison for security, mail, and access management, handling after-hours issues and maintaining emergency contacts for each

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years' related experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, as well as security and access software programs.
• Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-service abilities.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily facilities function, maintenance, upkeep and security for leased facilities.
• Coordinates the facilities maintenance program as primary contact for facility issues (MEP repair, maintenance, pest control).
• Procures and maintains facility supplies, furniture, appliances and equipment as needed and approved.
• Organizes and participates in facility, janitorial and security inspections.
• Sets up and prepares space for new hires; manages conference and training room setup/teardown.
• Monitors safety and environmental compliance; coordinates with department manager for issue resolution.
• Manages mail pickup/delivery and proper handling for remote facilities.
• Ensures buildings are secured at day’s end; manages access keys and after-hours requests.
• Processes new hire and termination access; maintains emergency contacts list.
