Job summary

The City of Tucson’s General Services Department seeks a Facilities Administrator to oversee the Facilities and Communications Maintenance division. This role plans, organizes, budgets, and ensures maintenance of City buildings and the communications network, including radio units and transmitter sites, under the supervision of the Director of General Services.

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Five years of relevant experience.
• Equivalency: any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hiring, training, and management of the FCM division.
• Establish performance expectations, goals, and metrics; conduct evaluations.
• Assist with corrective and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Provide leadership to ensure effective maintenance of buildings and communication systems.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing safety policies.
• Collaborate with executives on long-term planning and strategic initiatives.
• Review and approve timecards, time off requests, and personnel actions.
• Develop preventive maintenance programs and response plans for facilities and systems.
