Job summary

The City of Tucson's General Services Department seeks an Electronics Technician Supervisor to oversee maintenance of emergency power systems and the public safety communications network, including radios and dispatch consoles. The role ensures safety, efficiency, and alignment with city standards and reports to Facilities Management Superintendent.

Responsibilities include prioritizing workloads, supervising staff, coordinating repairs, and building partnerships across departments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Two years of relevant experience.
• Equivalency allowed year-for-year.
• A valid driver’s license with two years of licensed driving.

Responsibilities

• Set workload priorities and coordinate staff for timely, compliant work.
• Monitor progress, review labor reports, reassign workloads.
• Assist with policies, procedures, and training.
• Participate in hiring, evaluate performance, and enforce discipline.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of radios, dispatch consoles, and emergency power systems.
• Diagnose electronic systems in City vehicles and ensure proper up-/down-fitting.
