Job summary

Rivian is seeking an experienced Manager for Operations, Workplace Facilities to lead the East Coast portfolio—office, lab and R&D spaces. Qualifications

• 5-7 years of progressive experience in facilities management, workplace services, or corporate real estate operations.
• Proven leadership experience managing direct reports or embedded vendor teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting multi-use facilities blending office space with R&D/labs/manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Strong project management skills with end-to-end workplace transitions or expansions.
• Analytical/problem-solving mindset with the ability to leverage data for operational challenges.
• Technical proficiency with IWMS, CMMS, Google Suite and space planning tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for senior leadership.
• Self-motivated, service-oriented, and detail-focused with adaptability to change.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop East Coast Workplace Operations teams with a service-oriented culture.
• Oversee facility operations, preventative maintenance, and asset care to maximize uptime.
• Manage lab and R&D facility operations in automotive environments.
• Contract and SLA management for janitorial and support services.
• Track KPIs such as ticket response and operational efficiency.
• Oversee space planning, moves, and headcount forecasting for office and R&D spaces.
• Coordinate with IT and Security on access control and integrations.
• Support culinary and amenity programs aligned with employee experience.
• Partner with Real Estate/Design/Construction on expansions and improvements.
• Oversee budgets, requisitions, and equipment expenditures.
• Ensure EH&S and building-code compliance and workplace safety.
• Plan events and all-hands logistics; drive SOP adoption.
• Standardize processes to improve building efficiency; manage stakeholder expectations.
