Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Senior Lead Project & Design Manager in Atlanta, GA. You will guide projects from preconstruction through design, engineering, procurement, execution, and closeout, partnering with Architects and Engineers of Record to ensure schedule, budget, and safety controls are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture or Engineering with 10–15 years of applicable experience in design management, engineering, architecture, and construction.
• Strong knowledge of engineering disciplines and their interface with manufacturing equipment.
• Expertise in advanced project management processes, construction documentation, and financial controls.
• Demonstrated soft skills and adaptability to a fluid start-up environment.
• Experience working in VDC and CAD environments and managing major cross-functional workflows.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main liaison between Rivian and external design partners to ensure alignment on project requirements and deliverables.
• Serve as the programming lead for internal cross-functional teams to translate end-user needs into space programs and diagrams.
• Ensure coordination of engineering disciplines and that building systems support equipment and future flexibility.
• Oversee budgets, P&L, COGS, BOM costs, and DOA-based approvals; prepare justifications for higher-authority requests.
• Forecast budgets, manage risks, and maintain project controls to avoid scope gaps or schedule slips.
• Provide design support through construction, resolve field issues, and ensure smooth transition to maintenance teams.
• Maintain clear communication to avoid change orders and manage stakeholder expectations.
