Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Manager of Operations, Workplace Facilities to lead the East Coast facilities teams across office, lab, and R&D spaces. You will partner with IT, Security, EH&S, and Culinary teams to ensure seamless operations, strategic space planning, and safe environments that enable innovation.

You will balance day-to-day maintenance with long-term space forecasting, drive process improvements, and manage vendor relationships and budgets.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in facilities management, workplace services, or corporate real estate operations.
• Proven leadership experience managing direct reports or vendor teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting multi-use facilities blending office space with R&D/lab/manufacturing environments.
• Strong project management history driving transitions, expansions, or process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead East Coast Workplace Operations teams, fostering a service-oriented, high-performance culture.
• Oversee building operations, preventative maintenance, and repair programs to maximize asset life and minimize downtime.
• Manage automotive lab and R&D facility operations to support technical teams and workflows.
• Handle vendor relationships and SLAs for janitorial and support services.
• Track KPIs related to ticket response times and operational efficiency.
• Oversee space utilization, moves, and headcount forecasting for office and R&D spaces.
• Collaborate with IT and Security on access control and integrations.
• Support food service programs with Culinary team to meet employee needs.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design, and Construction for site expansions and improvements.
• Manage budgets, purchasing, and equipment expenditures to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure safety compliance with EH&S and codes; maintain a secure environment.
• Plan and execute All-Hands events and culture activities.
• Standarize SOPs to improve workflows and building efficiency.
• Serve as primary liaison for East Coast leadership and stakeholders.
