Job summary

The Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) is seeking a Facilities Operations Manager to lead daily operations and facilities management of eight buildings across our 36-acre headquarters campus in Burien, with oversight for regional campuses statewide.

You will manage custodial and maintenance teams, coordinate with vendors, ensure safety systems and compliance, and drive environmental stewardship and efficiency while supporting the agency’s mission to provide a safe,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, project management, or related field (experience may substitute year for year for education)
• Ten (10) years of progressively responsible senior level management experience in plant, fleet, capital projects, maintenance, and/or construction
• At least five (5) years of supervisory experience in positions requiring flexibility and emergent needs
• Excellent speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills with understanding of organizational dynamics
• Knowledge of building codes and safety protocols
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and facilities infrastructure management

Responsibilities

• Apply strategic management principles to plan and manage projects involving outside vendors and diverse organizations
• Lead and mentor facilities staff and coordinate with contractors
• Ensure compliance with city, county, state, and federal building codes
• Draft and review policies impacting safety and security
• Supervise and evaluate facilities projects and personnel
• Oversee contracted food service operations and other contracted services
• Manage budgets for capital projects and maintenance programs
• Plan and direct maintenance, custodial, environmental, and energy conservation efforts
